While I am not too fond of the many accessories that Sony has currently released, there is no doubt in my mind that they are on the right track. The Smartwatch, Smart wireless headset, among other accessories by them are not a bad idea – just horribly implemented for the time being. The software for managing these pieces of hardware just got a massive update which makes the application useful for everyone, even if you don’t own one of their products. [Read more...]

If you’ve been waiting to grab Minecraft Pocket edition because it has been missing many of the key features of the main application, now’s your chance to drop by the Play Store and grab the updated version. Minecraft version 0.4.0 brings many of the great features that we’ve been missing, including Chests, beds, creepers, TNT, and much more!

Charging the bow could destroy certain blocks (flowers, torches), or interact with blocks
The game crashed if player was killed while having the bow charged
Connecting players could die in creative mode
Dark leaves sometimes had workbench texture
Wrong crafting table size for Xperia Play

The team has been doing loads of work making the application work just like the PC version, and they’re getting very close. While the application is growing much closer to it’s desktop counterpart, we’re still missing a few things: one of which is having custom textures, which has to be one of my favorites. While there’s a few workarounds to get that working, it’s nothing like having the real integration for third-party textures. If you’re looking to test out the game, be sure to drop by the Play Store to grab the free version of the app, or purchase the game for $6.99. Game on!
(It would also seem that they fixed some of the bugs related to installation, as I can finally install it on the Note with AOKP!)

Early Thoughts on MIUI for Jelly Bean

If you have been rooting and flashing custom ROMS on Android for any period of time then you’re going to be familiar with the ever popular MIUI ROM. Being one of the most popular ROMs in Gingerbread, it has worked its’ way up over the years and finally found its’ way onto Jelly Bean devices. When I first purchased my Galaxy Nexus I had given MIUI a shot only to be disappointed. It was when MIUI was first ported over to ICS/Galaxy Nexus and I had an experience plagued with bugs. I was flashing ROMs like crazy at the time so I simply switched to something else and MIUI slipped my mind for the coming months. MIUI will never go away for long though, with one of the largest communities for a custom ROM and the popular iOS-esque style interface, MIUI continues to grow and improve daily. After hearing it’s recent build on Jelly Bean I decided to put push my hesitations to the side and give it another shot.

Asus Transformer Prime Receiving Jelly Bean Next – Let’s Hope The Other Asus Products Follow
If you’ve been keeping up with Android News lately then I’m sure you’ve been staying on top of the Jelly Bean update situation. Asus has been pretty good with issuing out updates rather quick, and this is no exception. Pulse News out on Web

You’re favorite news reading application now has its very own website where you can keep up to your subscribed sources. That’s right, all you have to do is simply tap the “.me” button within the application on your phone, create a pulse account (which can use Facebook as a log in) and move on to sync your sources. It’s an excellent way to view Pulse from any computer and might I say that the website looks magnificent. Using HTML 5, it beautifully displays your subscriptions in a tiled interface that will re-size and re-adjust itself based on your monitor size. It’s all that you could hope for in a web companion to one of the best news readers available in the Google Play Store.

Age of Defenders Update Brings Single Player, New Graphics Engine, and More
Remember that “Tower Defense” game Age of Defenders that came out a while back? It was very promising but let down its fans a bit when it didn’t release a single-player campaign, and the multiplayer-only game modes were constantly empty. The development team announced today that it in-fact has been working on the update and plans on releasing it very soon. The update includes quite a few tweaks and upgrades, as well as the long-awaited single player storyline. [Read more...]
Itching to Get Jelly Bean On Your Galaxy S Device? (AOKP Jelly Bean Releases)
While manufacturers fall further behind on updating devices, development teams like Cyanogenmod and AOKP strive to keep these devices up to date. Paying hundreds of dollars for a device only for it to be dropped a few months later is a real bummer; thankfully custom ROMs breathe new life into older devices as they continue to receive the latest and greatest operating systems. As of last night, AOKP has started to release Jelly Bean builds to the older Galaxy S line as well as newer builds for the current nexus devices. [Read more...]
Jelly Bean and CyanogenMod10 Preview running on the Samsung Galaxy Note
Eager to get your hands on Jelly Bean or CM10 for your Note? Check out the video and the links provided below for a preview build for the International version of the Samsung Galaxy Note. The build is mostly complete and can be used as a daily driver if you are adventurous. Remember: this is just a preview build and should be treated as such. There are a few things that don’t work with the ROM including a few sensor issues (rotation), full hardware acceleration, memory leak issues, among a few other things. That means that you won’t be able to see just what Project Butter has to offer the device just yet. The ROM is still plenty fast but you can see some of the visible lag when pulling down the notification bar or switching between the applications. Google now and the new voice search currently work so you can show off your device to friends and family. [Read more...]

While there’s not many apps I will straight up complain about having an ad in them, this is definitely one of them. POWOW Messaging is a wonderful looking application (thanks to it’s most recent update yesterday) which provides quite a bit of functionality, but costs a pretty solid amount of money: in return, it removes one ad. That’s it.
