Saving money is not always easy, but there are quite a few ways to assist in the process. There are many applications out there which allow you to compare purchases at stores to find lower prices online, like Google Shopper or other similar applications. A great application, and one of the less known, is an application called Deal Drop – Deal drop allows you to browse all of those sale websites (1saleaday, woot.com, etc) to find the greatest deals of the day all through one easy to use portal.
One of the daily rituals I have is checking my favorite sale websites to see if there are any great deals going on. Usually, saving around $50-100 on more expensive products, the factory-refurbished models can last just as long as the original and are often a fraction of the cost. Using Deal Drop makes browsing the huge selection of these websites much faster.
Pulling directly from the websites, Deal Drop displays all of your filtered websites, or all if you chose, in a single ordered list with a bit of info easily available including an image of the product, website which it comes from, the price, and a short description. Generally what I look for, this makes browsing multiple sites quick and easy once you get the application set up. Once you click on a product (screenshot on the right) you can see a more detailed view with all of the information and specifications of the product off of the website without having to navigate directly to it.
First time setup sucks, but you’re good to go after that
The settings menu in the app leaves a bit to be desired; the settings for all of the websites are not separated in any fashion, nor is there a quick way to select or deselect the websites you would like deals from. Meaning that the first time you set up the application and would like to tailor it to your specific sites you will be scrolling through a rather long list to select the pieces you want. On the bright side, you are able to customize which deals you would like to show up, down to the subsection of the site (tech, home, wine…).
While the application might not have the most intuitive interface, it does allow you to quickly browse your favorite sites without worrying about navigating to all of them separately. The application is completely free and available off the Google Play store. Be sure to take a look at the application to help ease the process, and if you don’t use those sites then you should consider it. There is an AWESOME deal on a 27” Samsung monitor today only.
