Immerse Yourself in the World of JAZZ

In a world of Android platformers it takes quite a bit for one to stand out. JAZZ: Trump’s Journey does a magnificent job of bringing a unique and beautiful art style to the Android game scene. Developed by Bulkypix, this puzzle style platformer adds some interesting twists to the genre. This game really shines and if you’re tired of the same dull platform game then give JAZZ a shot.

     The setting is 20th century New Orleans, you follow the story an aspiring jazz musician by the name of Trump. Based off of the life of legendary trumpeter and singer Louis Armstrong, you must assemble a band and rise to jazz stardom. Through a series of platform missions you must find each member. What sets JAZZ: Trump’s Journey apart from other platformers is its’ unique art style and intuitive controls.

     As said before the movement and control style is completely different from other games of the genre. Buttons will only appear as you need them leaving a clean UI and an overall high quality feel of the game. The interesting twist this game has, is that once you find your trumpet you will be able to stop time. Objects labeled with a music note can be frozen for as long as you need them to be. This is used to create many tricky scenarios which turn out to be just challenging enough without being too frustrating.

Live the Jazz Era

     The art style is really something special, a mixture of retro styles and shell-shaded textures. Accompanying the beautiful graphics is a list of professionally played jazz tracks. All of this is used to create a really good feeling of immersion that isn’t often found in mobile games. You can really feel the emotional connections the artists’ have to their tracks.

     The bottom line is, this game is worth your time. You can download JAZZ off of the Play Store for free. You’re only able to play the first two levels though and then you will be prompted to pay for the remainder of the game. At only $0.99 it’s a bargain. Currently, this is one of the best platformers on the Android market.
