Keeping track of all your future events can become a real pain, especially when you have some ranging from just a few days away, to others nearly 6 months away. While there are many applications out there which help to alleviate the situation, this week’s Indie App provides the features that you need to ensure that you will never forget another task. Developer UgglyNoodle released Regularly, an application which allows you to keep track of all tasks, even those with flexible schedules.
Never forget another task
Unlike many other task systems, regularly is optimized from the start to help you remember tasks of all types, including house care and distant upkeep. These tasks are often forgotten or difficult to apply to a task list due to the distant nature between them. Regularly is designed to keep all of these tasks in a single list with the most important of the tasks set first. This layout ensures that upcoming tasks six months away will not bother you until your set date, keeping your list clutter free.
One of the focal points of the application is the included urgency rating system; the system keeps the tasks that require your attention first at the top of the list. The rating system consists of a color palette from red to green displaying which tasks need to be completed first based on the importance of the task calculated by the application. Let’s say that you created a yearly task to clean your house every year, then last week you set a task to replace your broken faucet on the same day: the application will place the more recent faucet task above the house because it knows that the yearly house task is flexible per your instructions. There are multiple option for tweaking the appearance, importance, and flexibility for the tasks.
The smaller features matter too
The application also includes a few less prominent features that enhance the overall experience, including task logs, smart reminders, and expandable notifications just to list a few. The task logs let you log every time that you complete a task to show you how on time you were for that specific task and help judge in the future. Smart reminders help keep notifications from spamming your system, while ensuring that they are not so out of the way to make you late for that task. The final, and one of the coolest, is the integration into Jelly Bean’s new notification system; you can drag two fingers on the notification to see your task list from wherever you would like.
Regularly is available free off Google Play for everyone, so why not go and give it a test drive and a thumbs up? If you like the application and plan on using it, there’s a donation option built into the program to allow you to donate a particular amount. Help support this developer and give it a shot!
