One of the best parts of using an Android phone is your ability to have full control over the platform. From the way it looks to the way it runs there are tools that will allow you to control every aspect of your phone. Your Wi-Fi is no exception and to optimize your battery life you’re going to want to control it. Lucky for all of us a little known developer, Zeiger Apps, has created a simplistically brilliant way of scheduling how your Wi-Fi works and that’s why we’re going to take a look at Wifi Timer on our Indie Apps of the Week.
Control Your Wi-Fi

If you’re someone who only has Wi-Fi at certain times of the day you can schedule when your Wi-Fi is turned on and off. It’s extremely easy to navigate and even the most novice of smart phone users should have no trouble at all. There’s even a clean looking widget to accompany the app for your home screen. I tested it for a day and had no hiccups or problems with Wifi Timer at all. After setting several times my phone activated the Wi-Fi as I woke up and turned off on my commute to the office. During my lunch break it activated the Wi-Fi and turned itself back off until it was around the time I arrived home. Usually after a review I’ll uninstall the app, but this one is one of those rare exceptions I’ll continue to enjoy.
Those of you who worry about battery life or like the kind of automation to the Wi-Fi it provides should definitely give this application a go. What do you have to lose? Absolutely nothing! The app is completely free in the Play Store and as an added bonus there are no ads. Also, since Zeiger Apps is a small developer, they are extremely dedicated to listening to user feedback and providing frequent updates.
