So here’s an interesting tidbit of information. A recent rumor has been buzzing around that anyone who has taken the liberty to root their new Motorola XOOM tablet prior to getting the next update, will not be eligible for for the 4G upgrade once it’s released. We all know how anal Motorola is about rooting their devices, but this sounds like a pretty serious heads up from Motorola- which we’re guessing shouldn’t be taken lightly. The truth is, no one’s really sure how Motorola plans on checking each XOOM to see if it’s been rooted, but we can’t say it’s not possible by any means. For those of you who’ve already rooted your XOOM tablet, don’t fret. You can always flash back to the stock ROM and relock the bootloader. At that point, you should be golden to grab the OTA update.
