Rumor has it we’ll be seeing a reduced cost, reduced storage version of the Nook Tablet this week.
According to The Verge, an 8GB model of the device will be available on February 22nd. The storage is typically at 16GB, and has a price tag of $249. Because the internal storage has been cut in half, a drop in price is expected. The Kindle Fire, the Nook’s most direct competition, is available for $50 less (also 8GB), so the price should either match or even undercut the Kindle Fire to bring in the most sales.
The Verge’s source of information says the device will be available at 12:01 am this Wednesday, and that stores should already be receiving their supplies.
