The Sony Tablet P, a device that strays from the norm with a clamshell design, will be hitting American shelves at long last this weekend.
The clamshell design involves dual 5.5-inch LCD displays one each side, with a hinge in the center. You can use one screen, or both to act as if it is one larger display. Independently the resolutions are each 1024×480, but when used together are 1024×960.
Other specs include Android 3.2 Honeycomb, a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and support for officially ported PlayStation games.
The tablet has been available for four months elsewhere, but hadn’t popped up in the US. The device will be available on Sunday, March 4th, through AT&T for $399.99 with a new or renewed 2-year contract.
