and quot;Facebook Phone and quot; Rumored to be Getting Dropped by AT and amp;T

Even though the HTC Status (or “Facebook Phone”) has only been out for a little over a month, it may have already overstayed its welcome. Rumor has it that the Status will be getting the boot from AT&T.

According to TechCrunch, “multiple sources” have confirmed that the carrier will be bailing on the phone because of underselling of the product. This may not come as a shock to some (or anyone) since the phone sort of took off as a dud at the start. The “Facebook”-ness of the phone relied solely on the ability to update smoothly with their Blackberry style keyboard, and the dedicated Facebook button at the bottom of the page. Apparently, the phone is difficult to navigate, overwhelmed by Sense, and in my opinion kind of pointless. The audience they were aiming for was probably aiming themselves for a better gadget anyway.

AT&T released an official statement contradicting these rumors though, saying, “The HTC Status is a great product and our plans for it to be part of our portfolio haven’t changed.”

We’ll see, we’ll see.

HTC Status- aka and quot;Facebook and quot; Phone- Announced for AT and amp;T

The HTC Status’ Facebook page (how fitting) officially announced the phone today. So, it looks like the “Facebook Phone” everyone’s been hearing so much about will be coming soon.

What’s it got going for it? Well the main point of it is Facebook, obviously. It’s the first phone to have a dedicated Facebook button, that you can press to instantly access the social site and post pics, statuses, tracks, and to check in to spots. It has a Blackberry-type keyboard, which fits in with the whole Facebook status update thing as well.

Other specs on the phone include a 2.6 inch 480×320 display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, HTC Sense, 800MHz Qualcomm processor, 5 MP rear-facing camera and 1.3 MP front-facing camera, and 512MB RAM.

The Status’ Facebook page also said it’ll coming for Telus in Canada. There’s no confirmed time of release or price for either countries.

New Phone by LG is 4G in 3D for AT and amp;T…That's a Tongue Twister

Another 4G 3D phone is being tossed into the market, this time by LG under AT&T’s network.

The phone, named the LG Thrill 4G, will run Android 2.2 Froyo and will be able to upgrade into Gingerbread later on. The phone will have a 4.3 inch WVGA 3D display and a 1GHz dual-core, dual-channel RAM processor for the 3D capabilites. The phone will not require glasses to see the 3D and will be preloaded with two 3D games: “Let’s Golf 2″ and “NOVA.”
It’ll have a 1.3MP front facing camera and dual 5MP cameras in back with 720p video capture; photos and videos will be able to be converted into 3D as well and have unique features such as ‘no shake’ for the vids.
Also available for the phone is YouTube and mSpot- 3D of course on both- and an HDMI port and micro usb cable.

Naturally, no one has said when its coming or how much it’ll cost.
