MattedBlues CM9/AOKP/CM7 Theme Review

With the open ecosystem of Android, users have always wanted to customize the look and feel of their device to fit their liking. While to some a simple background change will do, other go a little bit further by changing ROMs or applying user made themes. Theming used to require the user to flash the theme over top of their current ROM, removing any ability to remove the theme except by completely re-flashing the ROM; luckily, this hasn’t been the case for ROMs such as CyanogenMod and MIUI for some time now. Many users and developers have been releasing user installable themes that are installed and uninstalled as easy as installing an application: one of them being my personal favorite, MattedBlues.

CyanogenMod 9 on the Samsung Galaxy II

Last week we wrote an article anticipating the release of CyanogenMod 9 for the Samsung Galaxy S II. That wait is coming to an end and early builds of CyanogenMod 9 are starting to roll out. CyanogenMod 9 For Samsung Galaxy S II

If you’ve ever flashed a custom ROM chances are you’ve heard of CyanogenMod (and probably flashed it), either way you should be excited for the upcoming release of CM9 for not only the SGSII, but for nearly every other phone on the market.

Codeworkx has been providing status updates about CM9 on the device and keeping all of the faithful followers up to date, even providing some projected ETAs which is damn near unheard of from a developer. [Read more...]
