Motorola DEFY Gets Froyo Update

Owners of the rugged Motorola DEFY rejoice, your days with outdated Android 2.1 are gone!

Android’s Froyo 2.2 is now available for the DEFY, and it’s just an update away.

The update is rather large at 112 MB and has a lot of much needed improvements to offer. Adobe Flash, along with the ability to store apps on your SD card and better speed are a few big jumps you get.

It’s recommended because of the size that you turn your Wifi on before getting the update.
If you haven’t already been notified of the update or feel you have missed it, you can manually access it by going into your Settings, then About Phone, and into System Updates.

Froyo Release for Motorola Defy Expected in Q2 2011

If you’ve been wondering when that time will come when you can officially sport Android 2.2 on your Motorola Defy, know that you’re not alone. The answer is finally in, but it’s not all that great. Froyo is expected to hit Defy units around Q2 of next year. Quite a leap from now, right? Especially considering Gingerbread and Honeycomb’s release would be ahead of that ETA. Not to mention that this release date is only confirmed for Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. As for the rest of us in the States? Let’s just hope that we see ours not long after, shall we?

T-Mobile announces Motorola DEFY for $99 after 2-year contract

T-Mobile has finally taken the wraps off the Motorola DEFY, and will be offering the Android smartphone for $99 after signing up for a two-year contract. You can get first dibs on it November 3rd. T-Mobile advertises the 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen device as “Water-resistant and dust-proof, with Advanced MOTOBLUR to keep you up to date on all the latest happenings.” Sounds like a unique device, if I say so myself. Does anyone plan to pick up one of these units?
