Verizon Drops Price of the Motorola R2-D2 DROID 2 to $199

To be honest, I expected the “Limited Edition” R2D2 DROID 2′s to fly off the shelves, even months after the initial launch. However, that just doesn’t seem to be the case. Verizon stores are having a heck of a time selling the remaining stock they’ve managed to retain, even with the holidays right around the corner. Fortunately, the Big Red has taken this harsh reality into consideration, and therefore, have decided to drop the price of the Star Wars Android to just $199. Not really a bad deal, especially if you’ve got a Lucas Film junkie in your family that would enjoy the gift of both worlds of Android and Star Wars.

Motorola Droid 2 Global (Blue) release set for November 11th

It looks like we won’t be waiting much longer for the Droid 2 Global. Recent word is that we should be expecting the blue model first on the 11th of this month. No word yet regarding the white’s release, but we assume that it’s not far behind. Could the delay have something to do with its strong similarity in appearance to the R2-D2 Droid 2? We think so. Heck, we wouldn’t be surprised if companies started manufacturing R2-D2 Hard Shell cases for the Global version.

Verizon drops Motorola Droid 2 and Droid Incredible to $150 after Contract

With the Droid 2 Global’s launch right around the corner, you may be asking what is to become of the lonely Droid 2? No, it’s not being taken off shelves, nor being discontinued. It’s simply going to be available for a lower price. $150 with a 2-year agreement to be exact. That’s not all. The Droid Incredible is now dropped to $150 w/ contract as well! Now you’ve got some thinking to do. Personally, I’d have to roll with the Droid 2. But that’s just me.

Motorola Droid 2 Global offered in 2 Colors, both have Camera

There was a bit of confusion last week regarding the rebate form from Verizon that displayed two separate SKU’s of the Droid 2 Global. Seems like most people figured it to be a camera version and a no-camera version. Luckily that was not the case. It appears that there will be 2 color options for the Droid 2 Global, BL and WH. Obviously WH would be white, but BL could either be black or blue. My guess is blue due to the color scheme of the first Droid 2. At any rate, we’re glad to see that the separate SKU’s didn’t mean something as drastic as a not having a camera.

Upcoming Android's shown on Verizon's November Rebate Form

A new rebate form from the Big Red has come to light, which gives us more insight of what’s to come from Verizon. November seems to be the month for new Android devices and first and foremost the Samsung Continuum appears to be on the list along with a $100 rebate. The Droid 2 and the Droid 2 Global also make the list both with a $100 rebate. Take a look yourself and see if anything catches your eye. After all, with the holidays right around the corner it’s no surprise that Verizon plans to unleash the best of the best before the years end.
