Chrome has launched in the Android Market for phones and tablets operating 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). This is the first “official” Chrome to be released for Android. Since it’s a beta rollout, it’s not going to be a game changer for how use utilize your mobile browser, but it definitely creates a more fluid way of browsing, and for that alone Google gets an A for effort from me!
Chrome OS Notebooks due to launch late November
The time has finally come for the next generation Google Chrome OS to hit notebooks, and a couple big name PC companies are following suit. The end of this month, Google will introduce its own branded notebook manufactured by Inventec, featuring an ARM-based platform with expected initial shipments to reach up to 70,000 units. Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Acer won’t be far behind with their Chrome OS notebooks, being manufactured by Quanta Computer and expected to launch in December this year. Asus will be sitting on the sidelines observing the market for Chrome Notebooks before they take their dive. This should be an exciting holiday season for Chrome infused notebooks worldwide, and I’m sure sales will be nothing short of outstanding.
