T-Mobile Updating Their HSPA+ Network To Seven New Locations Across US

Like Verizon, T-Mobile is actively expanding their 4G Market to include more customers in their ever increasing service area (which currently isn’t that large for their data coverage); with the most recent press release about the myTouch 4G Slide, they included information on seven new locations in the US which have recently gained 4G on the T-Mobile network.

The seven New Locations:
• Barnstable, Mass.
• Chico, Calif.
• Lancaster, Penn.
• Ogden, Utah
• Redding, Calif.
• Vineland, N.J.
• Winchester, Va.

I’m glad to see their coverage is expanding, because the current data coverage is not exactly fantastic outside of large cities. Most areas around where I travel are listed as 2G only: which is pretty unacceptable nowadays. You can check the coverage in your area here if you were planning on switching companies or are just curious.

T-Mobile Assures 4G Tablets Coming in 2011

It looks like next year is when we can expect 4G to hit a number of new tablets, including Sprint and now… T-Mobile. The company has recently stated to BGR their intentions for the new year:

“T-Mobile is working closely with the majority of our OEM partners to deliver 4G products by integrating HSPA+ into roadmaps in 2011 as the dominant global standard. Consumers will continue to see HSPA+ fuel future innovation in a variety of mobile consumer electronics from smartphones and tablets to emerging devices. T-Mobile will continue to be at the forefront of wireless innovation, delivering an aggressive 4G product lineup in 2011, including 4G tablets.”

We certainly are glad to hear that we can expect 4G speeds on upcoming devices, lets just hope that they actually stick to their word on this one.

Best Buy List Confirms T-Mobile as Carrier of Nexus S

A new product list from Best Buy reveals that they will in fact be selling the Nexus S, and although it’s lacking some of the juicy details that we’d all like to read about, this page still confirms that it’s a likely T-Mobile candidate. With HSUPA 900/1700/2100 and EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 bands supported, there’s no mention of HSPA+. The Nexus S will sport a 5-megapixel camera powered by a 1500mAh battery. We look forward to seeing what exact processor is to be expected in this puppy, not to mention the memory factor.

Canada's Bell Mobility set to Launch Samsung Galaxy Tab November 12th

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is making its rounds this month as carriers across the country prepare for the US release, and it appears that Canada’s Bell Mobility is doing just the same. The Canadian carrier has just announced that they will be launching the Galaxy Tab November 12th, over its HSPA+ Network and will be SMS-capable. This is great news for our neighbors to the north, as they too will be able to enjoy one of the most anticipated Android tablets of the year. No details have leaked on availability for pre-orders or pricing, but surely it’s soon to come.

T-Mobile Promoting G2 Via Current Subscribers

It looks as though the G2 is very close in terms of release as many have been receiving notifications of the device. Most reports are that we will be seeing this device in September. Check out the video below from one of our viewers.

T-Mobile’s G2 release set for late September

The successor to the not so great G1, the G2 is said to be “ground breaking”, sporting the first 4G Speeds on T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) Network. Thanks to the folks over at Engadget, we’ve got a first glimpse of this bad boy with some decent pictures.

The G2 seems to have a different sliding mechanism than its predecessor. Instead of the screen sliding up, it appears to now pop over the keyboard when opening and closing the device. Other features shown include a micro-USB port, LED flash, camera, and a volume rocker. T-Mobile is said to begin pre-orders for the G2 on September 9th, putting the official release on September 29th.

G2 Android Phone confirmed by T-Mobile

T-Mobile has come out and said that the rumors are true about the G2. The details on the phone are very scarce just yet, however we do know that it will be the first phone to run on the new HSPA+ Network. This is going to give the phone incredible 4G speeds. A date of release is not yet set nor are any other details. Lets hope they put at least Android 2.2 on this “Revolution”.
