LG’s serving up quite a bit here at CTIA, and the LG G2x surely wouldn’t miss out on all the action here on the show floor. This bad boy is part of the elite Tegra 2 family and runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) on a brilliant 4.0″ HD capacitive touchscreen, featuring with HSPA+ capability, 1GHz Dual-Core Processor, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and playback, and a HDMI output and DLNA support to wrap it all up. Demo Video of T-Mobile Sidekick Reveals Touchscreen Glory

Scheduled to be launched later this Spring, the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G is making quite the impression so far. Featuring enhanced messaging, five-row QWERTY keyboard, pop-tilt hinge, as well as offering a sweet touchscreen experience as well. Some further notes worth mentioning are:

  • Group Text – lets customers create, name, manage and participate in reply-all group text conversations, enabling them to lead their social network in planning and conversation.

  • Cloud Text – provides users the option to text with friends or groups from the comfort of their PC’s large screen and keyboard. All messages are synchronized between the Web App and their new Sidekick 4G.

  • Social Media – Facebook and Twitter applications are preloaded for easy interaction with social networks, with features such as status updates straight from the notification pane and browse feeds from the home screen. Users can also sync social network contacts to the phone’s address book, which lets them instantly post to their friends’ walls or comment on a status.

  • Jump Key – multitasking is easier than ever with the Jump Key, an easy to access physical button that enables customers to quickly switch between active applications or assign keyboard shortcuts to favorite functions or applications.

  • Sidekick UI – a custom-designed User Interface brings Sidekick style to life, including artist designed wallpapers, themes and ringtones and many custom SMS capabilities like Sticky Widget, Notification Pop-Up, Universal Composer and more.

All in all, I’d say this is going to be a pretty far leap from the original TMO Sidekick, and will be a hit with the same crowd of people. Take a look at the short demo clip above.

Samsung Vibrant 4G Image Surfaces, but is it the Real Deal?

Although rumors have been circling the web about the Samsung Vibrant 4G, we have yet to see any solid proof that device is in the making, or even exists. This new image may be the first sign of is to come, thanks to a source from BGR. A little inside information on the unit would include a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 21Mbps HSPA+ for TMO’s 4G Network, front facing camera and best of all… Android 2.3! Their source claims that the device is “smooth and stupid fast.”

Some people are questioning the legitimacy of this photo considering it could very much be a standard Samsung Vibrant with a Gingerbread theme installed. I suppose only time will tell as the weeks progress, but let us know what you think!

Motorola KeyNote Presentation Unveils Atrix, DROID Bionic, CLIQ 2 and amp; XOOM Tablet

Motorola has just finished their keynote presentation here at CES, and they definitely had been holding quite a few sweet devices from us until now. Let’s go over what we can expect from Motorola this year, shall we?

First and foremost the Motorola Atrix 4G on AT&T is anticipated to be “the worlds most powerful smartphone”. The Atrix 4G will be available throught AT&T, Bell Canada and Orange UK. This device features dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, qHD display, and packs a 1930mAh battery. As specs spill out for this device, the more and more we see that it’s definitely a multimedia phone most of all. It has an HDMI port so you can connect the Atrix to your home TV enabling a full screen android experience with all your apps, games and Android utilities. If that wasn’t enough to make your mouth water, the Atrix even features an innovative fingerprint reader, which not only allows you to keep your device much more safe and secure, but allows you to unlock your device much more quickly and efficiently. Being an AT&T customer myself, I’m seriously loving this device to death so far, and cannot wait to rid myself of the Samsung Captivate and get my hands on the Motorola Atrix.

The Motorola Cliq was first launched back in October of 2009 and was Motorola’s first Android smartphone to hit the market. Now the company estimates to have over 20 new 4G Android devices on AT&T alone by the end of 2011. Pretty impressive, right?

The days of the original Moto Cliq have long passed us, and now it’s time for Motorola Cliq 2 to take the rank as the real-deal Android. The Motorola Cliq 2 is exclusively with T-Mobile and features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with full resolution capture and a handful of IT-friendly security features that are sure to keep you safe from harms way.

This next beast that you’re looking at is none other than the Motorola DROID Bionic. This bad boy will be an exclusive through Verizon, and sports a 4.3″ qHD touchscreen along with Adobe Flash compatibility, 4G LTE speeds, 1GHz dual-core processor and of course support for videocalling over WiFi or 4G networks. The Big Red and Motorola expect this upcoming device to launch around early Q2 of this year.

Last but not least, the finale of Motorola’s Keynote Presentation was the official unveiling of the Motorola XOOM Tablet. This, ladies and gentlemen, is going to the mac-daddy of Android tablets. The XOOM runs with nothing less than Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), and packs a dual-core processor underneath a 16:10 HD display. Not surprisingly you’ll have your front and back facing camera’s which offer HD video capture and even video calling. What’s really unique about this tablet is that it’s completely upgradable from 3G to 4G, and is compliant with Adobe Flash making it an awesome option for doing any kind of mobile gaming. Availability for the Motorola XOOM tablet should be around Q2 of this year as well.

So there you have it folks, that’s a brief wrap up of the new devices that were displayed at Motorola’s KeyNote presentation at CES this year. We’ll be bringing you more information on new devices as they days progress here in Vegas, so be sure to stick with us!

New HTC Teaser Page Possibly Indicating Incredible HD's Launch Date

As if Motorola’s CES teaser video yesterday didn’t leave us worked up enough to see the new Android tablet, HTC jumps in with their own teaser page for an unannounced LTE device. As you can see from the image above, it’s next to the T-Mobile G2, My-Touch 4G and HTC EVO 4G indicating that yeah, this bad boy reins over ALL of them. Speculation so far is that the device is the Incredible HD, and you know, it may just very well be.

The ad puts January 6th, 2011 as the date for the device’s launch. You can also sign up on HTC’s website to be notified as soon as more information is released regarding the caped-smartphone. If you have any other guesses what this new LTE device might be, let us know!

T-Mobile Branding Shows Up On Dell Streak 7 Tablet; AT and amp;T Soon to Follow?

A new group of photos have come to light from CellPhone Signal indicating that the upcoming Dell Streak 7 will at least definitely have T-Mobile branding. With the device sporting a 3G modem which supports both AT&T and T-Mobile, we’re a little surprised nothing has been mentioned yet as far as an AT&T launch. What we do know so far is that the Dell Streak 7 features 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an SD card slot. We should expect an official announcement of the device around January, and maybe even a launch in February or March.
